About the event

---------- Clemens Christian Poetzsch – NOCTUNES: Solo Piano Concert Music inspired by cities after dark, played on a piano made here. At the PETROF Gallery showroom, German pianist and composer Clemens Christian Poetzsch presents his new album, NOCTUNES, in an acoustic solo concert. NOCTUNES is his personal response to the nocturne tradition: a way of giving the night a sound. Its inspiration came after performances, on walks through unfamiliar streets, with time to listen to a city and absorb its atmosphere. Eleven miniatures take their names from places on his concert travels, including Porto, Amman, Beirut, Athens and Prague. The tradition of John Field and Frédéric Chopin meets a jazz sensibility and contemporary musical form. Melodies, colourful harmonies and improvisation capture the hours when the day’s impressions begin to settle and thoughts can wander more freely. Within the PETROF factory grounds, this musical world encounters Czech piano-making craftsmanship. Surrounded by instruments made here, hear how Poetzsch explores the colour, dynamics and resonance of a PETROF grand, bringing his nocturnal memories to life. Spend an evening among the pianos and travel with NOCTUNES through cities after dark. Presented as part of Musical Bridges Europe, connecting artists, audiences and cities.
